EMELI SANDE

Her 1st Album, ('Our Version Of Events'), spent 10 Weeks at No.1 and it was also
the debut Album with the most consecutive Weeks in the Top 10 - 66. It beat the
1st Beatles Album, ('Please Please Me'), which had 62 consecutive Top 10 Weeks.
Emeli's Album had a 67th Top 10 Week, 2 Weeks after its 66th.

Her 1st Album came out in February 2012, but she has left it far too long to release
her 2nd Album, ('Long Live the Angels'). That is why it has 'only' entered at No.2,
in today's Chart. I doubt if it will hang around the Top 10 very long. From what I hear,
it is not as strong as her 1st Album, and she has lost a great many Fans as it is.

We'll see if she does a Dido, whose first 2 Albums were huge in the UK, but she took too
long to release her 3rd. That entered at No.2 & fell to No.18 in Week 2. Her Career never
recovered. Nor did Duffy, who had a gigantic debut Album, only for her 2nd to enter at
No.9, & it then dropped like a stone.....

Due to Emeli's Album entry today being her 68th UK Top 10 Album Week, I've up-dated these Lists.

= FRANK SINATRA – The OCC have him at No.3 twice, in the Chart of W/E 25th January 1959.
They have both ‘Come Fly With Me’ and ‘Only For The Lonely’ at No.3 – for its 1st & only Top 10 Week.
However, there was no such Chart Entry as ‘Only For The Lonely’, so The OCC give him 1 Top 10 Week
too many – 316. He was in the same Top 10, (at No.9), with ‘Frank Sinatra Sings Only For The Lonely’
and that Album was a No.5 Hit & spent 13 Weeks in the Top 10. It has the same Capital Label Number
as ‘Only For The Lonely’ - LCT 6168. ‘Only For The Lonely’ does not exist in UK Chart Books either.

    Nice post :)

That's pretty pathetic regarding the fickle part of the public, who in their mind think an artist has waited too long to release their next album for some people to lose interest, that is probably the kind of buyers who pick up album at Asda during their weekly shop.

Amazed at Rihanna, so much for being labelled a singles artist
