What Firefox extensions do you find most useful and would recommend? Here are some of mine:
Gmail Notifier
Get a pop-up with sound whenever you get a new email.
Click on the icon to get a large pop-up window, where you can read those emails then mark as read, delete, archive, etc.
Handy Dictionary
Double click on any word on a web page and get pop-up box displaying the meaning of that word.
Adblock Plus
Blocks banners, pop-ups and video ads.
Easy Copy
Copy certain web site detail into the clipboard, ready for pasting elsewhere.
Used this to create links on this post, without having to use the 'Insert link' button.
Rain Alarm
Get a pop-up alert whenever there is a risk of rain where you live.
Click on the icon to get a pop-up window showing a sequence of rainfall satellite imagery.
Quickly scroll to the top (or bottom) of a web page by clicking on an arrow.
Have several others, but will leave it there for now.
What about you? Also, let me know if you think you have better alternatives to the ones I've listed.

I don't have any problems at all. I know others have problems with extensions but I don't. Of course, occasionally I have problems with a particular extension but not to the extent of crippling my browser or PC.
The ones I mention add value for me, that's why I use them.
Autofill forms
Hide Bookmarks bar.
Why do you need these extensions?
When both are available in Firefox settings
Download Status Bar. Does this do something extra not already in Firefox settings?
Just asking
Well, strictly-speaking you don't need any extensions do you? they're all conveniences.
Autofill forms is a one-click form filler. It's not the same as auto-complete. Probably least used of the ones I list though.
Hide Bookmarks bar provides a keyboard toggle that I prefer to the mouse. Most of the time I don't display the bookmarks bar. But occasionally want to invoke save to Instapaper, which has a button on the bookmarks bar.
Download status bar is just nicer than the default but each to their own.
Flashblock seems to be having problems with some sites again so I've had to switch to FlashControl for the time being.
