Diagram for wiring up tv/sky/surround sound/xbox etc

Is there such a thing and if so where do I find one?

We now have

HDTV
Sky HD box
Surround sound box
DVD recorder
Xbox
Wii

Aside from the fact it's too much gadgetry for me, at the mo my hubby is just unplugging and rewiring every time we want to use something different as he can't be @rsed to work out how to wire them all up so they work together.

I am sure there must be a way (perhaps not both gaming machines at once).

Help! :confused:

    It would help to tell us how many scart and hdmi connections there are on your tv and whether the DVD recorder also has a hdmi ouput. If you are not sure just post the make/model numbers of each unit.

    2 hdmi ports and 2 scart sockets on the tv and one set of the yellow/red/white "holes"
    TV is currently using one of the HDMI ports to wire it to the Sky box

    2 scart sockets on the dvd player (no hdmi)

    Thanks

    Your surround sound box, does it have HDMI inputs? Your HDTV, does it have Component input (red, blue, green)? The DVD recorder, does that have Component output?

    If connections allow..........

    Sky HDMI -> TV HDMI
    Sky Optical/Coaxial/phonos -> Sound system
    DVDr AV1 -> TV AV1/2
    Sky AV1/2 -> DVDr AV2
    Xbox HDMI/component/scart -> TV HDMI/component/scart
    Xbox optical -> Sound system optical
    Wii component/scart lead -> TV component/AV1/2

    Depending on which connections are available to you, you may need a switchbox.

    Could be more precise if you gave make/model of TV/sound system.

    Getting closer.

    Video settings...........

    Sky HDMI -> TV HDMI
    DVDr Scart AV1 -> TV Scart AV1/2
    Sky Scart AV1/2 -> DVDr Scart AV2
    Xbox Component -> TV Component
    Wii Scart lead -> TV Scart AV1/2

    You could use component for the Wii, but you would need a component switchbox, if you are not overly concerned about PQ the Wii will connect via Scart.

    Audio connections will depend on the sound system.

    What audio inputs have you got on the sound system?
