I'm thinking of buying the Sony BDV-E370 Blu-ray Home Cinema system to go with my Sony Bravia KDL-32U30 and Humax Foxsat HD PVR.

Any observations on this system, please, before I commit to buying it?

    I prefer this Panasonic http://whathifi.com/Review/Panasonic-SC-BT200/

Comes with an iPod dock, and looks and sounds Fantastic with Blurays. Avatar Blew me away on this system.

Thanks for that, but I'm really looking for info anyone has on the Sony, positive or negative.

I think it's possibly a newer model than the Panasonic, and does the Panasonic have an FM tuner? The Sony is also quite a bit cheaper.

The Sony is "3D ready", whatever that means! Presumably when 3D discs come out and I lay out on a 3D TV, I'll be able to play them!

Being a pretty new piece of kit there won't be too much info around. However looking on Sony's site and reading around it does seem that the BD player hardware is basically the same as the new BDP-S370/470 models - that I can help with.

I bought a 370 a few weeks back and it is an excellent BD player - very nice interface, (based on the PS3's XMB design,) very quick loading, (even java heavy titles are 30s max,) and has very good internet playback (BBC iPlayer is excellent.)

Thanks for the info. I have now ordered the 370 from Amazon. I downloaded the manual which tells me what I need to know. It seems that the only difference between the 370 and the 870 is that the 870 has taller front speakers.
