What has happened to Jennifer Metcalfe's acting in HO ?
The Mercedes character has always been a bit loud and a Metcalfe has always used a few ott facial expressions. But now every single line she speaks has one ridiculous ott expression after another to the point where it's ruining her character and making her annoying to watch.

I'd say she's always been terrible.
Loud Ott characters can get away with terrible acting in soaps. The actress who played Val in ED was a classic example of atrocious acting being accepted because some thought she was funny.
The one who plays Bernice is another who can't act for toffee but gets away with it because her character is camp and funny to some.
But neither of them gurn quite as much as what Metcalfe does these days. Even the appalling Lacey Turner doesn't gurn as much.
