Is it just me or is the Eleventh Doctor becoming like the Seventh

Think about it, in his first season he was all fun loving and light hearted, then in Series 6 he became darker (Engineering a mass-murder of The Silence, lying to Elderly!Amy etc). Is this intentional on Moffat's part?

You're not alone. I too have noticed similarities. Also, the mystery surrounding the 'one question' and the last line of series 6 being Dorium repeating"Doctor Who?" reminded me of the mystery they started to build with the Seventh Doctor in stories like Silver Nemesis, Remembrance of the Daleks and Cartmel's plans to make him The Other.

I think the reason for the darker side of the Doctor is to show that sometimes he has to make sacrifices and to give the audience the view that the Doctor isn't always perfect
