Five US gives top up tv prompt

Apologies if this is a dumb question - I thought the new channel Five US was freeview.

However, when I switch to it, after a couple of minutes I get a please wait message and the programme is replaces by a screen asking me to get Topup TV.

Strange thing is I can watch the channel fine if PIP is active and scheduled recordings from the channel seem fine to.

I just can't watch it live!

Any thoughts?

Using 9200T - latest firmware AFAIK

I had to rescan a few times to get mine right after the TUTV anytime and the new Five channels appeared.

I wonder if this is caused perhaps by the box not having been reset, and the channel tables still (incorrectly) having information about the MHEG pid for TUTV associated with the LCNs which are now used by Five's channels.

If it were a more general problem, it would surely have been reported by users of other equipment.

Put the subtitles on. Five US doesn't have any (I think). SO you won't get any subtitles but the mheg will go. The box will not be able to decode 2 Mheg layers at once.

Deleting all the channels and rescanning should sort it.
