This is the worst I have ever seen and heard. It is called The Christmas Shoes. Some load of cobblers about some kid buying his Mum shoes for Christmas - oh by the way his Mum is dying.

Actually no. Last Christmas and Fairytale of New York are fine as long as I don't have to hear them too much. And as for the Band Aid one the only version worth listening to is the original. The newer versions are crap.

I really can't stand the song by Paul McCartney, Wonderful Christmas Time is it called? I find it so dreary and boring, it obviously didn't take a long time to write. The lyrics could've been written by a child. And for the music, is it just him hitting a few notes on his Casio keyboard with a few bells in the background?

This isn't a bad song, but I have never considered it to be a Christmas song even though it is played only at Christmas time: "Hard Candy Christmas" from Dolly Parton. In my opinion, a hard candy Christmas is not what she is really singing about. Instead she is singing about different every day normal things that can be compared to one. To me, them things are what the song is really about.
The dislike for Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas is so sad. She has probably the best Christmas album of all time. I think it's back in the charts, btw and iteo came out in like 94 and it's still big. Crazy.

Neither are really Xmas songs, protest songs really
Beacuse it's by Mariah Carey & it's unlikely that she'd be happy with just "you" at Christmas
So why are they dragged out at Christmas then? Is it because Christmas is mentioned in them?
I guess so, though I'm sure that both artists realised that sticking "christmas" in them wouldn't exactly hurt the sales either !
Maybe they also thought more people would listen to them if Christmas was mentioned.
