My case for Rebecca

I have come to the conclusion that I'll rather have someone who can sing properly and dont dance than someone who can dance but cant sing...

I 'll enjoy listening to becca on the radio and would love her perform too.. She is very good. Leona was said to be boring when she was on xfactor, look at her now. I'll stick my neck on the line and say she'll make it more than any of the other xfactor contestants.. maybe apart from 1direction.

She has improved from that shy girl who kept looking at the floor at the auditions to a more confident girl she is now. She'll get even better. You can tell she is a very nice girl who has time for everyone.. How many pop stars are like that this days...

I hope she wins. It'll be a victory she more than deserves

Count me in aswell. She has a voice that I could listen to for hours. I don't go to concerts to watch dancing, I go to hear an artist sing.

Thats all very well if she sings your type of music but she is very limited to jazz and soul and thats not what i like i turn that kind of stuff off the radio and i think her style is only for a small amount of people in the Uk. And as far as Leona went well she could turn her hand to any type of songs really.

I wanted Leona to win but never bought any of her music, Rebecca, on the other hand, I would buy her music. I don't like 'all round'.

I completely agree. When you're listening to music on your ipod or in the car you've only got the voice. Why should anything else matter.

    And that's the point.

Mary, 1D and Cher are mass produced, value-brand cheddar.

Matt is Red Leicester, not so common but incapable of anything other than widespread appeal.

Rebecca is Roquefort. Unusually made, highly specialist taste and not for everyone.

I would rather have a performer who acts like a total rock pig who manages to make music that excites and interests me than aural vanilla blancmange made by someone nice.

...In case you're wondering, none of the acts did it for me this year.

    Rebecca is the recording artist.
    She sounds wonderful live.
Just imagine how she will sound after they have got all the backing perfect in a recording studio.
    I can't wait.

Good case, though it shouldn't have to be made. Anybody who doesn't see her as being a mile ahead of the other shower needs their head cleaning. She has been pure class from day one. I suspect she wont win but that will only highlight why this show really isn't to be taken too seriously.

Basically if you don't like her or her style of singing then the fact that she doesn't do all singing/all dancing is the final nail in the coffin of your support for her - if she has nothing to interest you visually and her singing is the sort of thing you would switch off, there is no way she is going to turn you round.

If you do like her style of singing then she is an absolutely class act, you probably aren't that bothered that she doesn't dance or even move very much as she looks good just standing there and you would really rather just listen to her singing anyway rather than seeing her dancing and looking uncomfortable.

So it's all down to personal taste as these shows always are. I think she'll do okay now whether she wins or not.

Buy the CD then. Nothing worse than watching a dull person in concert. I saw Tracey Chapman at the Albert Hall, time I will never get back.

I'd buy a Rebecca CD for background music when entertaining friends. That isn't a crititism, that's where her market lies.

Do you think she'll make it?! Would you go and see Cher in concert ahead of rebecca then?!

I am not music buff but I would buy Matt's records and listen to them as easy listening excellent voice, Rebecca she just has one tone to her voice although it is very distinguished
it's not for me, she is a bit like Sade from the eighties.
Cher well if thats singing I must be done deaf. One direction
a bit too similar to Wanted I do like them.

I disagree, My favoutite type of music by far is soul and I would turn her off and to be honest I reckon a lot of folk that like soul music will feel the same. Her voice to me has no soul and there is no emotion in it either IMO. Every song shes sang she has sang it in exactly the same way with a very limited range. If you listen to artist like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald etc the difference is HUGE!!!!

I think personality maybe keeping her in as the judges keep
banging on about, they don't say them comments about Cher, Cheryl thinks the xfactor is about her, Joe from last year:o not doing to well in the charts another Leon Jackson.

I thought Grammy winning Sade was awesome?

Oh dear God. Every five seconds ''Oh well she's a nice girl'. Sorry, being nice isn't enough for me. See, I'd prefer some one with stage presence, which for me Rebecca doesn't have. I understand people might like it, but I don't think she is soul. I hope she gets a music future for those who liked her, as I do with every act. So whilst I disagree with you, OP (apart from the fact that she has grown in confidence), I wish her the best.
