Broken crown, dentist wants me to wait ,4 weeks

Last Friday night, eating dinner, the porcelain on my front crown shattered. Almost exactly a week later, I haven't been able to get an appointment. I'm practically a recluse. I can't go out like this! Any suggestions?

    When that happened to me, I stayed in and re-enacted various scenes from Jeremy Kyle. It passed the time.

    Are we talking broken crown as in a tooth or fractured skull?

    If your skull is fractured, I don't think a dentist is the best person to treat you.

    This wouldn't be a problem for me as you can't really see my teeth when I talk. Only when I smile. So if I was in your shoes I just wouldn't smile. I'm not a hugely expressive person so that would be easy.

    But even if my teeth were easily visible I wouldn't worry around strangers as they don't know me. I'd probably only really freak if I was still at Uni or 6th form where I'd be worried being around the girls I fancied. Then it would be an absolute nightmare.
