Home Alone is a good film for just relaxing and watching it go by and enjoying the way Kevin has to keep the burglers out of his house. The sentimental stuff about him and the importance of his family goes without saying.

But for absolute classic christmas films then it has to be The Snowman, Scrooge and The Muppet Christmas Carol are the best.

Bad Santa has to be at the top of my list, followed by Gremlins.

The Night The Reindeer Died. (short though it was)

The two Home Alone films and The Santa Claus.

And considering it's not deemed a great film, I think Jingle all the way with Arnie is awesome.

As it's the time for goodwill and peace to all men... it's got to be Die Hard.

Definitely Home Alone 2. I was a toddler when it came out, so I grew up with it. Even at the grand old age of 26 it still gives me that warm, fuzzy feeling!

I didn't know Mary Poppins was a christmas film?

A Muppets Christmas Carol for me and Scrooged would also be up there. Never understood the fuss over Its a wonderful life.

I'm not sure if it really counts. It was originally released in july and Christmas is rather incidental to the plot, and it gets shown on TV all year round, whereas a proper christmas film can't really be shown any other time of year.

Jingle All the Way for me, but I'll vote for Home Alone

Same! When I was younger I used to think Arnie as Turbo Man in the parade was one of the coolest things ever!! :D

Should have National Lampoons Christmas Vacation there.
Also love Jingle all the way, Arnie is just brilliant in it.
I voted Scrooge, the 1951 b&w version is the best version though.

Given that it's the centenary of the Christmas truce I'm very surprised Joyeux Noel (Merry Christmas) doesn't seem to be on this year.

Fairly shocking Die Hard isn't on it.

Die Hard and Home Alone without a doubt :)

'It's a Wonderful Life' by far from the choices, the original Black Christmas would have got my vote though, really should be shown every xmas:D

I prefer the AFI's Top Twenty Christmas Films of All Time, even if I don't agree with the first on their list.

At least they have my all time favourite Christmas movie at Number 7. :)

    1. It's a Wonderful Life - 1947

    2. Holiday Inn - 1942

    3. White Christmas - 1954

    4. The Bishops Wife - 1946

    5. Scrooge - 1951

    6. Miracle on 34th Street - 1947

    7. Christmas in Connecticut - 1945

    8. Meet Me in St Louis - 1944

    9. Going My Way - 1944

    10. The Shop Around the Corner - 1940

    11. The Wizard of Oz - 1939

    12. Lady and the Tramp - 1960

    13. Singin' in the Rain - 1952

    14. The Apartment - 1960

    15. The Bells of St Mary's - 1945

    16. Gremlins - 1984

    17. The Snowman - 1982

    18. Die Hard - 1988

    19. Scrooged - 1988

    20. Home Alone - 1990
