If you like the instructor you have maybe it's best sticking with him, the others might be cheaper, but you'll need a couple of lessons with them for them to find out what level you're at
Another thing to keep in mind is that a self employed instructor might want an extra few lessons/payments out of you, where as an employee just wants you to pass and move on to the next one
Practice what you can in your mind whenever your going anywhere mirror, signal, manoeuvre.....check mirrors.....would I have stopped there? When to change gears approaching junctions it all helps for when you're in the car

that's thing I'm worried about too. He's nice, but I don't think I could see him getting me through to the test, but it's early days

that's also the hard bit, trying to work out who's init for the money and who is the best at teaching and wants you to pass
plus I'm eager, so have booked all 5 lessons for this week (5 lesson deal)
That's a good start
thought it'd stay fresh in my mind, rather than 1 or 2 hours a week and forgetting it

Just don't get caught talking to yourself
good tip I'll do that
been sitting here practicing my feet too
It really is a case of keep on practicing until they think you're ready
I was already doing that today he said 'now you on your own'. Me: 'mirrors, look, clutch, biting point, ease on the acelerator'
just going to take a lot of practice!
Once you get the hang of biting point and changing gears the rest is easy ......apart from reversing
I'm like that leaving the house ........wallet, watch, keys, phone
I'm not even thinking about reversing and parking yet it's hard enough as it is
it's remembering to use feet, hands, eyes and ears all at the same time
Dare you do all that walking and talking
Half the battle is getting an instructor you like/trust
and checking each pocket as you're walking?
and one that's not trying to get as much money out of you as possible!
when you get used to it, is it as easy as walking?
Aye
