but the vet just charged me £5 to do the form
i won't be using that vet again

Administration costs are always exploitative. That's life.

It costs more than that if they pick the phone up,still vets charges are excessive though.
Vets are expensive, but I don't think they're excessive given the amount of training they have to have in order to practice. Having animals costs money, that's just the way it is.
Yes pets cost money but it does annoy me when i spend £40 on worming pills for my 2 dogs and 1 cat,to be told in the pub later that the most the vet paid for the pills,was £10.I do not mind anyone making a profit but that did seem
excessive to me,i know that running a practice costs money
but i still think they over charge people,as when your pet is ill you are prepared to pay almost anything.Well i am anyway.

I try to think of vets like any other professional, they charge for their time and expertise as much as for the actual treatment. It costs me £25+ VAT each time I take my cat to the vet, which has been quite frequent lately as he's developed a severe allergy to something. That's £100 an hour they earn, which is no greater than a solicitor or accountant would charge.
