I cant see Sportitalia on 12W

Apologies, I'm a newbie!

I've a cheap Commtel SD receiver and 60cm dish.
Last week I installed a motor and spent many happy hours tweaking it!
I can even get GSP.TV in the sunshine (goes when cloudy!)

However, I thought I'd try to watch ManCity this evening on Sportitalia on Eutelsat 12W (12.5W) but I can only get a few channels eg. KTO, Bethel TV

Is this because Sportitalia is HD? If so, can I plug the dish feed into my Bush BFSAT01HD freeview HD box and manually tune it in? (Leaving dish pointed at 12.5w)

Please be gentle!!!
Thanks

No none of your suggestions will tune in Sportsitalia due to them being on a DVB-S2 Multistream transponder.

I thought it was FTA from looking at lyngsat...?

It is FTA, but you would need a PCI tuner card for it, something like a TBS6925 which can tune these.

    Ah!

My whole setup cost less than £100 so I I'll not buy a £170 card to watch TV on my PC.

I guess I'll have to wait until cheap multistream dvb-s2 boxes are available.

    Many thanks

PC receives the channels through the card, but you can still watch them on TV, by connecting your PC video card to your TV set. Even HD with excellent quality (depending on the quality and capabilities of your PC video card).

Anyway, Sportitalia channels are not HD, and not even 16:9.

OK, I've had a look on my PC and it doesn't even show a signal from the transponder!
I have a Twinhan/Azurewave AD-SP400 (which does DVB-S2 no probs) and I am using SmartDVB software.
Do I need to get better software or is my 5-year-old card too old?

You need a professional TV card, as DVB-S2 is not enough.
You need a device capable of DVB-S2 Multistream.

How are Italians are watching it, then? Or is it a cable end feed/DTT transmitter feed?

You've answered your own question. :D Yes, I believe these feed the DVB-T network in Italy.

    Yes, they do.
That satellite feed includes 3 DVB-T multiplexes, which are available FTA in Italy on UHF frequencies 47, 48 and 60.

Sportitalia1 and 2 are also available on satellite platform Sky Italia, but of course they are encrypted.
