Why do you think they changed it from global warming to climate change.

It gets warmer = climate change
It gets colder = climate change

    Either way tax, tax, tax!

If 'global warming' takes hold, you better get accustomed more to these kind of winters and cooler summers due to the effect on the gulf stream. But that's a few years off yet :).

Because people are idiots. People assume Global warming means its sunnier and hotter, rather the planet is heating up which changes weather patterns which does indeed lead to warmer weather but also more extremer cold weather aswell.

Hardly! It's to be expected in winter time. If we had it most of the year, fair enough.

I think global warming is a load of rubbish that the governments use to make money out of us.
I say its definatley new ice age. Lets face it, we've had stone, iron, ice and other ages we're due for a new one.

Nah, it just turns out that predicting weather is more chaos theory than it is an actual science :D

One mustn't forget, climate change and global warming is a measure of GLOBAL climate and temperatures. E.g. in Australia, they are experiencing a rather unbearable heat wave.
Plus, Met Office says 2010 'among hottest on record'

Despite all these threads, I'm sure people do know the difference between weather and climate. I'm sure DS is not really filled with idiots...

I'd rather be here where its snowing alot than in a heat wave.

Could you tell us when "they" did that?

Because I'm having trouble finding a time when there was an Intergovernmental Panel on Global Warming. I've only been able to find the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, set up in 1988.

Someone did suggest this morning that the run of cold winters in western Europe might be down to Arctic ice melting and spilling down into the Atlantic, making the sea cooler. That's basically the weakened gulf stream scenario by another name - presumably they don't want to scare people with any suggestion that this rather extreme change might actually be starting to happen.
