My now departed mother in law was obsessed with her tablets and appeared to be very proud of the amount that she was taking. She had a pill for everything and I'm sure most were simple placebos prescribed to humour her. When meeting people, her first question to them was what tablets were they taking and what for. It made me vow never to ask such a question of anyone,or to answer if anyone ever asked me the same question.
When i first started my epilepsy meds i couldnt swallow tablets so had to have dispersable ones. Once i could swallow them i could only manage tiny ones. Once my dosage got high i used to have about 12 tablets a day. Now i have the same dosage but just two large tablets a day.
I occasionally have pain killers, or liquid medicine for colds. I still havent managed to master the capsule pills yet!
I'm fortunate not to take prescription medicines on a regular basis. If I get manflu I take every symptom relieving remedy known to mankind although I have found Beecham's all in one capsules to be the best for comfort.
I never liked to take any tablets, even aspirin but unfortunately in the last couple of years I now have to take them for high blood pressure/heart, cholesterol, depression and now cancer.
I'd love to not to have to take any, but I think I'm just falling apart now
I take about 180 a week plus vitamin, this can go up by another 8 a day if I'm in a lot of pain with extra pain killers, these are all for life and have been taking them for the last 16 years or so. I rattle when I walk.

most days i take lamotrigine and olanzapine, a while back i was on seven meds a day, it freaked me out and i went on a massive purity trip and gave up everything else as well [weed, coffee, tobacco etc], i`ve since learned not to abandon the lamotrigine.
Lamotrigine gave me 'the dreaded rash' so I was quickly whipped off of it

If I didn't I would look like the Singing Detective within a fortnight
