I dopn't think there are that many funny women prominent in the media. Many of those mentioned are humour free zones to my mind -
Gina Yashere? Do me a favour! When I heard she had moved to the US to pursue aher career it was British comedy's gain. Sadly, she seems to be back.
Andi Osho can be funny but often isn't.
I like Jo Brand but think she is prone to take the easy, unfunny route too often.
The above mentioned Morwemnna Banks used to be very funny on Absolutely but is rarely seen nowadays, perhaps she is not on channels I watch.
Sareah Millican drives me to anger and nausea in equal quantities. Why is she so popular? Unfunny, one note 'comedian' who is unpleasant to watch...so I don't if I can help it.
The women on Smack the Pony were briliant but are rarely if ever seen now.
I agree Susan Calman is funny and, as she gave up a job as a practicing lawyer to be a comedian, she must be confident of her own ability.

Anyone see the Sports Relief stand up programme? I thought Gabby Logan (who I usually cannot stand) showed a hitherto unsuspected comic timing that was quite impressive. A new career beckons?

I love Susan Calman - saw one of her Edinburgh shows a couple of years ago, there weren't that many people in and she chatted to my daughter during the show - she was lovely, and very funny.

Also love all of the Kath and Kim women.

Who knows, if you say her name she might just sit on it. What a way to go.

    Lucy Montgomery and Debbie Chazen
    (TittyBangBang)

Lucy's Tom Cruise impersonations were brilliant

    hmm, jennifer saunders
    gina yashere
    ellen degeneres
miranda hart, especially in that spacey sitcom! Her miranda sitcom is not hot hot hot imo.
    the morgana show woman
    sandi toksvig
andi osho is meh, but not bad
there are others...i just can't remember right now.
    joan rivers is ok
    caroline aherne - scorchio!

fair to say, there are many funny women, whether actresses/writers or stand up comedians. I'd say jennifer saunders and ellen are my favorites. Saunders on account of the legendary ab fab, and ellen because i always loved her sitcom but mainly becuase she's just naturally very funny and very personable.
I also thought gina yashere was pretty much the only woman who made me laugh on mock the week. I also saw her live before she was famous and i was in hysterics. So, maybe they're my top three.

Ooh I forgot to say, there are two french comediennes from a sketch show called "Vous les Femmes" that was shown on BBC2 a while ago. Even though it was in french and I had to read the subtitles, I still found them both hilarious. Their timing and facial expressions were excellent! :D

Lisa Lampinelli, she is crude, offensive, and brash.....but she makes me howl with laughter. Puts all the others to shame.
