If you completely uninstall both, does it still crash?

If it still crashes with them both uninstalled then I don't see how they could be the problem. Have a look in the event log to see if there is a clue there..

When you say that it is crashing, do you mean completely by shutting itself (Firefox or the computer) right down, or does it appear to crash by hanging with no response to the mouse for about 60 seconds and then coming back to life, something I have seen from time to time?

My BBC News videos (and iPlayer) have also packed up. in FF and Chrome, but not in Ice Dragon browser or IE10.

LIONTIGER suggests an add-on problem in my other thread..

Hold Shift key down when starting FF to start in safe mode (no add-ons)

I'll sort out my problems anon.

If it's just Firefox crashing the main things to try are:

    1. Restart in safe mode. If no problem, re-enable add-ons one by one until culprit is found.
    2. If that does not work, or if no add-ons, try creating a new profile.
    3. Disable hardware acceleration.

Similar if you run into problems with Chrome.
