Hello,

Just a quick one. I'm trying to sell a load if stuff online, the only problem is I don't really like eBay and Amazon appears to complicated, unless you pay them each month for a special account.

Therefore are there any special alternatives to these sites, which are any good, to sell online?

Any information you can give will be very much appreciated.

I can't think of any that have the kind of foot traffic that either of those two, and I guess that's the key thing when selling, having the people there wanting to buy?

Also I guess it depends what you're selling, plenty areas for specialist stuff, ie my OH sells collectible on a few sites for serious collectors etc and has no issues.

Get over your dislike of ebay would be my suggestion. It's easy and will expose you to the most potential buyers.

Nothing complex about amazon marketplace at all. If you can't manage that then there's not much hope for anything else. :D

    Gumtree is good. Buyer collects.

Facebook has loads of local selling groups. Look for your local one and put the stuff on there.

Most towns and cities now have several local fb buy/sell pages. I have had some success through this method and, as the respondents are usually local, delivery/collection shouldn't cause a problem.

What kind of "stuff" is it? If it's handmade or vintage you could try etsy.com.

Actually I was, just too busy to post as often as I would.

Ebay is corrupt these days. Buyers are liars! Complaining the goods have not turned up or were damaged and demaning full refunds and eBay backs them all the way. Doesn't matter what proof you have.

I've tried looking into Amazon but stuff is just too complex to understand, pages and pages of stuff but doesn't mean a lot, unless you want to pay for their "better" services.

    Hi there

I have an intense dislike to Ebay as well - too many horror stories.

I have used Gumtree from time to time, its easy to post an add - and costs nothing.

However you do get a lot of time wasters too, trying to knock you down to next to nothing. Set a price in mind, but also set a bare minimum that you would take too (and stick to it!).

Ive used Amazon Market place once. Was easy to kinda get the hang of, but to sell anything, you kinda need to be the cheapest going. Amazon also withhold the money for a month in a holding account (in case of problems etc)

    Cheers

    What exactly are you selling?

If you are selling clothing then Ebay is good. Also there is a new app called Depop. If you find something on Ebay you can probaly find alot more on Depop and one for a cheaper price.

CDs/DVDs/Clothing - MusicMagpie. All you gotta do is scan/type the barcode in and then package it all up and wait for the courier to pick it up.

I also recommend those local selling groups on FB..I`ve made about £15 from selling stuff on them.
