Just came back from a walk with my springer spaniel puppy and she's been stung by stinging nettles :( She is now a very unhappy puppy bless her, she keeps whining and bitting her paws and trying to scratch her paws on the carpet. Anyone else had this problems with their dogs? Is there anything I can do to help her?

I have this problem with mine. I too have a springer, and he generally doesn't feel them. His fur is too long, and his feet too tough.

But my other dog gets smothered in them. She tries to avoid the nettles as much as possible, but she comes out in a nasty rash.

Im not sure there is a lot that can be done.

Hopefully she will learn from the experience.

Mine avoids nettles like the plague (smells em a mile off).

If his ball goes in the nettles, he just sits there and waits for me to get it!:D

Make a solution with baking soda and cool water and dab it on the affected area or you can rub cucumber on it and that should take a lot of the sting out of it for her.
