  I thinks she's improved as an actress.
  I actually liked her as Mel but the character was awfully written into that "screamer girl" sterotype. But when she wasn't screaming she was great in Dr who especially trial of a time lord and delta and the bannermen and dragonfire. The clip from her as a child is just plain awful but she's improved over time.

  The thing I don't get is that wasn't she married to an Iranian, her reaction to the food and headscarf just didn't seem legit.

  She was funny. I like how Nancy reacted to her. I'm sure Mick and Linda would like her humour.

  Yes but she is surely aware of the culture, particularly given Shabnam looks like any girl in Tehran does its not like Shabnam is in a full niqab.

  I liked her, I had no opinion on Bonnie Lanford before but she made me laugh a couple of times like correcting Shabnam on her name and then mentioning her husband farting whilst at the dinner table

  It was fun to watch Shabs cringe lol, Carmel brings a lightness to the screen, so hope she sticks around for a while.
