Doesn't she have a column in one of the New, Now, OK rags? I'm sure she will have her say there and be properly scandalised at the injustice of it all.

Oh and for everyone saying they think it's ok to date a friends ex obviously is a pretty shitty friend themselves. You don't go near ex's or family and that's just friend code.

Why? It's not like Stephanie was dumped and left broken-hearted, according to her. It was an amicable split and she herself says 'the candle had gone out'. So what the hell does it matter to her who he goes out with afterwards? Sounds like 'dog in the manger' syndrome to me.

Personally I wouldn't date my friends ex, whatever their break up was like I would never go there. It seems like they were friends, so I assuming Kym might have known Stephanie wanted to make things work so as a friend why would you go there.

'The story and metaphor of The Dog in the Manger derives from an old Greek fable which has been transmitted in several different versions. Interpreted variously over the centuries, the metaphor is now used to speak of those who spitefully prevent others from having something that they themselves have no use for.'

Personally, I wouldn't be too fussed with my friends dating anyone who I had previously - I would wish them the best of luck - however I feel that it is necessary to wait for enough time to pass. Yes Steph says that candle has gone but I took that to mean that while she's not in love anymore she still loves him. IDK, personally, I would never date any of my friends ex anyway but it's a very grey issue and one that everyone needs to make for themselves I guess or to talk about with really close friends to find out their feelings also softly softly approach is always best. People respond better to sugar than to salt. However I do believe that the dynamics of a friendship would change forever if you went with a friend ex partner.

How is she spitefully trying to prevent others from having him?
They were in a 5 year relationship and had a child together. 2 months after the breakup one of her good mates has jumped in there. I would be pissed aswell. People breakup and get back together all the time. Kym obviously knows that. In a 5 year relationship there's bound to be a few bumps in the road and this could have been a bump. But Stephanie will never know if the relationship could have been mended because one if her mates decided to think only of herself.
She has every right to be annoyed and Kym just comes off like a selfish bitch who doesn't respect anyone else's boundaries

My sister slept with my other sister's ex boyfriend a year after they split up about 15 years ago and they haven't spoke since.

    ^^^ Indeed. LOL.

    And LOL at BIB below

‘Kym and Dan are not in a relationship but have both been single for some time and are entitled to socialise with whomever they wish. Kym has more dignity than to respond further.’

I see Kym's 'entilted'. Just about sums her up. Wouldn't she ride rough shod over anyone to get what she wants? She was hardly married to Jamie Lomas before she felt entitled to screw some actor from Corrie.

If your mate confides relationship troubles, then they split and your mate is heartbroken, I would have thought common decency would stop anyone seeing/dating the mate's ex. I wonder how Marsh would feel if the situation was reversed. Personally, I can't see her taking it too kindly.

Well I have no idea just how much 'good mates' they were anyway - more like they just all hung out in the same crowd at the same bars, clubs etc, but irrespective, Marsh is today denying the whole affair, and even if it's true, do you really think Stephanie's best course of action was to go and sell her 'story' to the nearest gutter press? Don't waste your sympathy, pal. :kitty:

Also my friend did it to her friend as well her boyfriend broke up with her and a few months later at my 30th the ex turned up with the friend (I know a lot of people who don't have morals) it was a fun night.

do we know the same people? :D I honestly don't know anyone who has went out a friends ex tbh and I guess it's not a one size fits all thing, the last bloke Steph went out she might have been fine for this to happen but not this one, she's hurt and upset and while it might not have been good to go to the press she does have my sympathy.

They must have been close for Stephanie to confide her worries to Kym. Also they have each other's numbers to be able to text back and forth. You don't do that with someone you barely know.
Also I would imagine talking to the gutter press is the only thing Kym understands as she has them on speed dial
