Are they showing this uncut? I've seen this episode loads of times before but for the life of me don't recall ever seeing the 'Worker of the Week' segment, the scene with the family arriving at Cape Canaveral in the weird car, Homer talking to Marge on the phone and still pressing the keys and Kent Brockman's newscast of the space launch.

Weird. Or i'm just losing my memory. :o

I noticed it too. Crazy that they cut Kent Brockman's "insect overlords" bit because that is probably one of the most famous Simpsons lines ever!

I would say that you're losing your memory but I can't recall ever watching it on C4, only Sky.

It was all normal and Kent said "..and I for one welcome our insect overlords" as usual.

Homers call to Marge I only vaguely recalled, maybe it had been cut in previous showings?

There was a bit cut in Sky1's showing of Bart of War tonight. Ralph said to the goat (I think) 'You smell like....' after I googled it, the bit cut out was '...dead bunnies'

I've seen it many times and yet I feel like I haven't seen the weird car bit that often. I looked at it today like 'wtf!'

I definitely remember all the other bits though, especially where Homer keeps re-dialling the phone. Always makes me laugh.

The Worker of the Week bit is right at the beginning I'm sure.

Maybe the first bit isn't that memorable

And why would they cut bits, for timing?

That line was definitely in there.

    And it was a wolf.

What a great side character the inanimate carbon rod was.

OK, no Apu or Disco Stu but great anyway......

Might have been worse. They could have sent us to that terrible "planet of the apes"...wait a minute...Statue of Liberty...that was OUR planet!

    Etc.

    My favourite part is....

NASA guy - "And here he is the second man on the moon, Buzz Aldrin"
Buzz Aldrin - "Second comes right after first!"

Homer, Barney and the NASA guys remain silent and glance at each other awkwardly.

Buzz Aldrins face is -
