Hi everyone.
I'm of to Spain in a few days and was wondering if anyone knew if it is possible to buy the euro internet pass before before you go. The website says you will get a text when you arrive but surely it would make sense to be able to buy it when I'm still in the UK to save having to turn of push notifications etc?
Anyone know? (thought asking here would be a better option than phoning 3 CS!!)

You can buy the pass before you leave by going on to the right mobile web page, but you have to renew each day, so you'll still need to go that site each day once you're there.
True - as I found out last week, I took out a new contract with 3 in store and mentioned to the sales person that I was about to go abroad - he said nothing (apart from calling me 'mate' all the time grrr) and discovered when I got to St Lucia - no phone connection!
On checking the 3 website it states, as you said, that you have to call to activate international roaming and in any case it's not allowed during the first two months of a new contract!
After reading all the horror stories about their Indian call centres I wasn't looking forward to calling them, but I managed to speak to a real person quite quickly who had perfect English and activated international roaming there and then.
They were very quick, very efficient and everything worked as they detailed.
As for the Euro Internet Pass, I enabled it before I left the UK without any problem.
It does appear however that after running several speed tests on 2 different roaming networks (Bouygues Télécom & Orange France) that speeds are capped at 2Mbps download and 2Mbps upload, but everything worked fast and efficiently! Well worth £5 a day for UNLIMITED data as even on French Pay as you go sim cards, there doesn't seem to be an "unlimited" offering.
