Is this controller a Wii U Plus remote?

Hi, can someone please help me?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gioteck-GC-2-Wireless-Controller-Nintendo/dp/B00BB9GKB2/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1401194616&sr=8-3&keywords=gioteck+gc-2

The Gioteck GC-2.... Is this a Wii U Plus remote, or not? If not, what would the implications be? Would that I mean I couldn't use it to play Mario Kart, Zelda, Super Mario Bros etc?

No it's not a WiiU remote plus at all, it is however and equivalent to the Pro Controller.
Of course you can use it to play the games, it would be exactly the same as using the Gamepad buttons without the screen in the middle.

Ah right thanks. I'm getting my terminology confused. They key word here, as you've pointed out, is 'Pro'. Excellent - I look forward to giving one of these a go. Thanks for your reply :)

Personally I would buy an Official one as the build quality on this thing is likely to be lacking at best.

The official Nintendo Pro Controller is excellent and the battery lasts an eternity.

Actually forget what I said above and hold fire on buying one as it may not be a Pro Controller equivalent after all as according to their website it's only compatible with Wii games in Wii mode.
The GC-2 Wireless Controller has been ergonomically designed to enhance gameplay...
...with Wii U™, featuring an offset thumbstick design which produces a second nature control stance familiar to Xbox 360® owners.
The GC-2 is precise, durable and above all else comfortable; utilising only the highest quality components and materials, superior bumpers for precision gameplay and optimised 2.4Ghz wireless technology.
The GC-2 enables you to play marathon gaming sessions well into the early hours as the GC-2 has been designed by gamers, for gamers.
    Available in white or black
Please note: that our current model is compatible with Wii Classic Games, the next generation model (coming soon) will be compatible with Wii U Pro games

Spend a bit more and go official.

The Official Wii U Pro Controller is amazing. By far the most comfortable controller of this generation.

Thanks for that, Gonzo. Spotted this myself earlier.

I also found this thread on hotukdeals :

In summmary, Amazon are currently selling them, and according to the last couple of posts, it looks like they are sending the Pro versions out. Fingers crossed... as I've ordered two.

Believe me, I 100% agree about avoiding third party products. But for this price (£15), and to bulk out the number of controllers I own for Mario Kart multiplayer, I've decided to take a punt.

I'll report back with my opinion of these in the next couple of days.
