Hello, I am thinking about buying a stereo system and I would like to know what cables I would need; Richer Sounds has a load of different speaker cables for sale, usually at 99p per metre, but I have no idea what ones I would need for what function. Could you please help? The system I am after is the Onkyo CR555DAB and a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 9.0 speakers.
Thank you.
Thank you.

That will do pretty much as good a job as any of these fancy cables that cost 3 grand a metre.

Yeh but you save over £2000 and get free delivery !! I thought it was just HDMI cables that could be bought for silly money but these are taking it to new heights.
WTF:eek::D
Why not build a D/A converter, amplifier and PSU into the speaker or speaker stands/brackets so only a few inches of lossy analogue cable need be used, and cheap (relative to the £18k cable!) optical or electric digital connections from the source.
A bit like the new spark plugs with the coilpack attached instead of HT ignition wires from the distribution system.
It is all relative, though, isn't it?
For someone spending £200,000+ on a Hi-Fi they are unlikely to worry about spending £20k on speaker cable.
I've got expensive interconnects and speaker cables, but they didn't cost me a penny. Where I purchased my Hi-Fi from gave me 10% of the value of the hardware to "spend" on such items, so if I can choose any interconnects up to a value of @ £100 to have free there's little point in choosing the cheapest, is there?
Now before everyone jumps in and tells me the cables only cost a few pence to make and the retailer makes a massive profit on each one sold, I'm fully aware of this but if I'm not paying it doesn't matter what the retail price is, does it? I've still not paid for them.
You wouldn't put bell wire on something like these Kharmas @ £330,000 a pair.:D

They would go perfectly with my fantasy Chord system!!
Only in my dreams!!!!
