Hopefully a 1tb or 2tb version of the faster models will come out soon certainly the 2tb version doesn't appear to offer any improvements bar the larger drive vs the 500/1tb models
Has anyone attempted to open up their YV on and slip in a higher capacity retail drive like a 4TB WD Green drive ( I think they all use WD Greens 3.5")
Judging by those reviews, it looks like the Humax box is the better buy of the two, and Huawei need to up their game a bit if they are to compete in the retail market.

Quite a number of people have upgraded their Humax DTR1000s with no problems, but I think the largest tried has been 2Tb.
Judging by those reviews, it looks like the Humax box is the better buy of the two, and Huawei need to up their game a bit if they are to compete in the retail market.
I was disappointed to read the review of the Huawaei as I was hoping for some strong competition to Humax. However, to me it looks like the only fundamental issue really is the remote control which should be relatively easy for Huawei to fix.
