Can anybody help?
The remote control for my Alva AELKDVD1988 isn't working (only some of the buttons work). To cut a long story short is my one for all urc-7140 knackered because I can't get it to work with the above tv-dvd combination.
I've done everything in the book and replaced the batteries.

This is general advice from several universal remote sites (not OneForAll)
"Some Combo devices (e.g. TV/VCR, TV/DVD, DVD/VCR, etc.) will require you to set up two different Mode buttons to control both parts of the Combo device. For example, if you have a TV/DVD Combo, you might need to set up one code under the TV button to control the TV part AND a separate code (under any other Mode button) to control the DVD part."
I assume that was the original Alba remote that was repaired.
No. That one's ****ed so I had to get a new one.
