Panicking over what exactly? TEH has just broken the record for iPlayer downloads, the timeshifts have been unprecedented so far and the series has been commissioned for a Christmas Special and a Sixth (Fnarg +1) run...add that to the fact that excepting (much as it pains me to say) Britain's favourite TV programme, BGT, DW is the most watched programme on Saturday nights...

What pissed me off about that is them saying it beat Doctor Who, yet they were on at completely different times.

Well that shows how out of touch I am - the impossible planet and the satan pit are my fave episodes from series 2.
    Edit: Along with GITF!

I liked The Impossible Planet, and The Satan Pit disappointed me and dampened it a bit for me.

I think it should be mentioned it is not getting low ratings, the ratings are a little lower but nowhere near what could be described as low.

I liked the Satan Pit- I can still see that bloke with the script on his face. I can't believe that was the worst episode! Worse than Gridlock?

The Beats Below had the overnight ratings of 6.7 million....the official rathings are in...and they 8.4 million....(inc HD)

So that is over a million in Timeshift....VOTD is going to sail through the 7 million rank with no problems....

    PANIC OFFICAILLY OVER!!!!

The overnight ratings are becoming increasingly irrelevant, particularly this year since the earlier time slot means a lot of regular viewers aren't home for the initial broadcast but record it, watch it on Sunday or on i-player instead.

Classic DS nonsense - because DW was the most viewed programme for the previous 2 weeks, they extrapolated that BGT had "beaten" it...

Overall ratings are still looking great. Shouldn't they be the most important ones in this day and age?

    Good stuff on both counts.

Definitely shows that the over nights don't count for much ratings wise these days.

The first two episodes got an AI of 86 each?

That's a very high AI rating indeed isn't it?

Fantastic total for TBB and great AI for VotD even if I didn't quite enjoy it as much as I'd hoped!

Thats another pretty tasty time shift! I think it's official now that we treat all overnights with extreme caution as far as DW is concerned!

The AI for VOTD is okay considering the way some people on here have reacted to the episode!

    episode 13 6.91: 8.22: 8.62: 10.57
    Average--- 7.95: 7.71: 7.55: 8.05

Series 5 has the second highest ratings for a series opener.
Series 5 has third highest ratings for the second episode of a series.

Note: series 5 figures include HD viewers

A very very solid start to the new era ratings wise, a similar time shift for VOTD should see us over 8 million, well within the normal range for this point in the series.
