Well I'm saying you should. Listen to ME. Even Cadiva couldn't resist temptation and she ignores all our porn stuff usually.
No, I usually look at it, I just choose not to comment on it normally. That image though deserved a mention because it really was the most appallingly bad piece of photoshopping I've seen in a while

It wouldn't have been anywhere near as funny without the appallingly bad photoshopping though. I'll never forget Colin's wobbly head.
I thought you were going in August? Don't tell me you're going on holiday twice. That's not fair.
I am going in August, but I am also going in July. Yes, 2 holidays. We don't normally - our August holiday is our usual holiday - but we made a long standing promise to our kids to take them to Rome, having been there ourselves (9 years ago) for our 10th wedding anniversary, and if we don't take them now, we may never do so (eldest is 17). So it looks flash and decadent, but really it is an exceptional circumstance that has taken 9 years to be able to afford. Am I forgiven now?
2nd holiday far more mundane but what I have been doing since I was a bump in my mother's stomach: walking in the Lake District. Bet you wouldn't want to join me on that one!
I also want to know where Natarhi is going. Also nosey!

Oh Cadiva, that is sooo missing the point!
(I could have guessed you always checked out all the links though. )

I don't think I ever said I was going on holiday in August. I'm taking leave days to go to the Globe, maybe that's what you're thinking of. Or Avi who is going on holiday in August.

She meant me Natarhi. At least, I hope she meant me. Otherwise I have just written an overlong post boasting of my 2 holidays and I will feel a fool. :o
Corfu.
Ooo lovely. Been there. You will be guaranteed some lovely sunshine.

As Keren says, that was the point, it's just that the combination of said photoshopping was so bad it totally overwhelmed any sense of achievement which might have been reached by said subject matter

Oh, well that would make more sense. That is what I get for reading on my phone. 3 weeks practically is August though surely? You must hardly be back between holidays.

Yay! I've been to Greece before but not Corfu specifically.
Going exactly 3 weeks today. Only going for a few days. I'll be back well in time for the 7th, no fear.

I've been to Corfu a few times (have a friend there - a real Shirley Valentine) - it's gorgeous, on of my very favourite places. Whereabouts are you going? Kavos?
Well then, I hope Eoin looks into showing his film at the Newport Beach film festival. If the film is as good as the trailer and he mentions Steinbeck in the summary, it should be a shoo-in, imo.

LOL it's hardly flash and decadent, I know people who think 2 holidays a year is a necessity. I wouldn't mind if your holiday didn't clash with the 18th but as it does, then no, you're not forgiven.

Why's that? Do I give the impression I don't like walking or the Lake District? I've never been there so I wouldn't mind going. I'm glad you're not my mum though. If my parents had tried to make me go on a walking holiday I'd have refused to go. A bit of walking is fine but a holiday purely built around walking? I wouldn't have tolerated that. I think I'd survive, and maybe even enjoy, a walking holiday now though. Oh dear, I must be getting old.

My holiday pre-dated any arrangement to meet on the 18th though.

Oh no, I didn't mean that! I just meant that it wasn't a holiday that guaranteed the sun. In fact, it pretty much guarantees wall to wall rain! Nats was talking about going to the sun and I am hoping for sun in Rome, but not in the Lakes. Sorry, I realise there were a few unspoken thoughts behind my comments.

Somewhere up in the north, it begins with S, the name escapes me at the moment.
My placement is all sorted now so I'm definitely not coming on the 7th. Feel free to do as you wish with my tickets.
Oh no!
I've just found out that the on site phase of my next inspection is w/c 5th August . . . I'm waiting for someone to notice I'm on leave on the Wednesday and Thursday . . . and panicking

Sidari?
If it is, it's the closest big resort to where my friend lives (and where her English school is) - she actually lives in Dafnia which is a tiny village (when I first went to visit, there was only one phone and it was in the village shop/bar), and we used to walk down through the olive groves to Agios Georgios which is a really quiet little resort, or go to Afionas (you can probably guess why I like it there!) to watch the sunset
Paleokastritsa is worth a visit - and a boat ride to the caves, Corfu Town is lovely . . . and make sure you read "My Family and Other Animals" while you're there

WTAF???
No disrespect to Natarhi, who I am really looking forward to meeting, or to Lem, who is gorgeous, but if someone else pulls out, I am going to seriously get the hump.

Oh that's alright, I'm not as bothered about having sun as most people. I'm not into sunbathing, beach type things (well I can't sunbathe even if I wanted to because of my skin).

Don't worry - my Annual Leave is sacrosanct - it's been approved by my Line Manager so they'll just have to adjust the timetable to accommodate my time off
I'm not giving up Colin, I mean, meeting you et al for anything!

Where are you going? <Is nosy>.

Not good enough. I'm going to sulk for.. urm.. the rest of forever :(:(:(
Apparently Cold is influenced by 'East of Eden'? Is that true? I could totally see Tom and Eoin as the brothers in that book, btw.
Certainly interesting . . . but probably won't mention any part of the film at all as we'll be otherwise engaged
Eoin did say he was hoping to put on an exclusive screening in London for the Cold contributors but was struggling to find a cinema big enough
I only want it to be big enough for 4
Oh yes . . . . but it won't include candles . . . the film won't be called "Cold" for nothing
I've been to Corfu a few times (have a friend there - a real Shirley Valentine) - it's gorgeous, on of my very favourite places. Whereabouts are you going? Kavos?
Yes, he did say that . . . although it's been a long time since I read the book, so must re-read it before I see Cold

I was responding to Avi.
Well I've never been to Greece so I know absolutely nothing about Corfu. It looks lovely though!
BooooHooooo
But you are still coming on 18th aren't you??
My holiday pre-dated any arrangement to meet on the 18th though.

Oh boo.
I should coco.
That would be awesome. He should just show it twice, once for the morning people and once for the afternoon people. *crosses fingers and hopes*
Somewhere up in the north, it begins with S, the name escapes me at the moment.
*sobs* How could you Keren?
Oh no!
I've just found out that the on site phase of my next inspection is w/c 5th August . . . I'm waiting for someone to notice I'm on leave on the Wednesday and Thursday . . . and panicking
But the morning show would be SO much better than the afternoon
Sidari?

I am on annual leave that week so yes, I should be going provided that I survive the next few weeks of hell.
Oh that's alright, I'm not as bothered about having sun as most people. I'm not into sunbathing, beach type things (well I can't sunbathe even if I wanted to because of my skin).
It's not my fault, I just go when and where I'm told to!
