What do you know about the Rothschilds- a very powerful family?

What or how much do you know about the Rothschilds?
I have read that they own most of the banks worldwide, they have control of most of the mining companies, they are deeply involved in government decisions especially in the west.
I recently also found out that one of them - Sir Evelyn Rothschild was responsible for the creation of Milton Keynes. :eek:
On a more serious note, this is probably the most powerful group or family for the last 200+ years.
For any of you who want to know something about this family who controls much of the world, perhaps you could start with these two pages I got from well known British media. I have not provided any links from other websites because I would hope that this topic can be discussed and explored properly rather than it all turn into a fight for one reason or another.

Can I ask what work he did for them?:)
Many of the buildings in the town were built by them.
Nothing that grand - but he worked and lived on the de Rothschild estate in Exbury, Hants. Edmund de Rothschild owned it then so would have been his boss I suppose!
Churchill's father died in debt to them and this was used to control Churchill, some say.
They were also responsible for the foundation of Israel through the Balfour declaration.
They are also rumoured by conspiracy theorists to head the illuminati, the true rulers of the world.
There is a lot to know about them. As they specialise in banking and finance, most of us won't have much of a clue what they really do, which might be to their advantage I suspect.:(
Google for them and do some reading. I can't say that I agree with everything that has been written in the articles that I linked to, or what Wiki says about them.
The more you read, the more you will see that their absolutely incredible wealth has allowed them to change history and alter entire nations.
There are many sites offering timelines of this family. Their original surname was Bauer until one of the sons changed the family name to Rothschild, which means Red Shield. His father had a red haxagram hung above his business.
Their first taste of true power I suppose came when they funded both sides in the Napoleonic wars. Consider how rich one would have to be to finance that kind of undertaking!:eek:

Herein lies the problem, for clearly the Rothschilds are not going to admit to such plans. They are very secretive as well.

Have you read about their alleged involvement in the Second world war? I was quite gobsmacked when I did, because it flies in the face of everything I had been told. Not sure what to make of it all.

I think they are decsendants of mary magdaline, and the holy grail, thats why they are in the Illuminati
Is he? I have not heard of him. The male descendants are better known but the female descendants and their children would be harder to know because of changing their names upon marriage I suppose.

I never knew that! I wonder how many other towns they have had a hand in creating or developing? It's reported that they are the largest landowners in Buckinghamshire.

If you do remember to do so, I am sure you will have more questions than answers. During that commotion about George Osborne, Peter Mandelson, Russian billionaire Deripaska and Nat Rothschild the business editor of the BBC Robert Peston wrote in his blog that he knows Nat Rothschild well and thinks he is honest.:D
He received great criticism for this. I learned a bit more reading some of the comments left on that blog.

I searched Google and found the page where you found that from, I wonder what properties they own in the USA? I am sure they own vast chunks of property in Europe too.
