    Really? :p

Ball booted out of defence, opposing defender crashes into goalkeeper, Gray rolls into an empty net... blimey, football must be poor in 1980 if that's one of the goals of the season! :D

It was certainly the goal of the season for Wolves. :p

You might be in luck because a friend of a friend of a friend told me all the surviving Doctors are considering coming back for the 20th in a few years time. It's unclear whether Tom Baker will be involved though.

What would your Macintosh design have looked like? Would it have been the same as the one that was eventually released by Apple? And what about the operating system?
I would have gone into the future and stolen Apple's design for the computer itself and the operating system, then return back to 1980, and use the design ideas for myself, so yes, it would have been the same as the one that was eventually released by Apple!

I have just been made redundant at the age of 27 after being in full time employment since the age of 15!!!

little did I know that this was the first of many redundancies and long periods of unemployment, and it would have a detrimental effect on the rest of my life, resulting in me never marrying or becoming a father,

    :(

that is horrendous; you have my heartfelt sympathy!

Couldn't you make up for lost time? I think older dads are cool and no one is too old to get married.

I have a great idea for a new TV program, I'll call it Zero Factor, where the public vote for the most inept male singers to release a Christmas single...

1/ Is Margaret Thatcher an honest decent woman ? (politics)

2/ John Lennon has been shot dead (General Discussion)

3/ Will there be an even more boring spin off from the tedious soap Dallas (TV programmes)

Dallas was 'opium for the masses' and boy, did they lap it up? 1980 was a curious year and didn't totally remove the stain that was the 1970s, it only reinforced the sickness by another route.

I just had this weird dream about a thing called Facebook. It was basically a tool for people to air their dirty laundry in public, if they weren't keeping the rest of us updated with the most mundane, boring details about their day to day lives. Someone even took a photo of what they were having for dinner! The funny thing is it was hugely popular, there was even a film made about it. As if!

I've heard rumours that they might get married next year. I don't know why but I have a bad feeling about it.

Do you think that John Lennon is safe living in New York? I've heard there are some crazy people living there.

    April 1980:

Its great to see Britain and Spain resolving their differences over Gibraltar and re-opening the border.

I believe this issue has been resolved once and for all.

    Also:

Congratulations to Robert Mugabe on becoming Zimbabwe's Prime Minister, I'm sure he'll go on to do great things...

AWW that's nice of you, I doubt there is much chance of me becoming a dad as I just turned 60 and my partner is 51, as for getting married, it's not been ruled out as yet,

Oh, and her daughter has recently had a baby, so I am a 'step' granddad and loving it,

    "Should Germany still be divided?"

"How long will Liverpool's dominance of the first division last" (Including calling all fans gloryhunters/implying they bought the league and the generic protocol of a supporter of any other team other than the winning one tends to do)

"Vinvyls or Cassettes?- Which is the way forward"

    "Jimmy Saville looks really creepy"

"Oh my god, stop saying John Lennon is dead!"

"I am going to invest in Apple. I have a feeling they will do big things"
