Visually a good piece of work but not suitable at all for DW. Too literal. Not enough proper Vortex fun. And impressive as they are to look at the asteroid field and river of fire sequences look like levels from a video game and don't fit the show at all.

And while i am happy to separate the art from the artist he is an unbelievably unpleasant person to communicate with. As has been proven on here time and time again.

These titles aren't as good as his previous ones, which are superb! This one looks a bit cartoony if you know what I mean!

Agree with the others regarding the authors attitude though, super talented but equally a super d**k!

Hmm, whilst the work looks great, to my mind at least this crosses a line between a fan creating tribute videos to someone plagiarising somebody else's work for their own personal gain, with reference to the sponsorship deal and heavy self promotion that seems to be going on.

I would think that any potential employer would question his ethics in this matter.

Sadly the Tardis doesn't act like that very often.

It prefers to weakly fade and appear in places (an effect that's got noticibly weaker in the Smith years too, in the 9/10 era it at least blasted in and looked like it was coming through some sort of time/space eddy or something. Now it's just a boring fade that they could do in 1960...yawn!) not fly about dynamically.

I wish they'd do more with the Tardis TBH.
It was at its best doing stuff like flying down the M1 or being blasted by a Dalek missle or something.

    Great titles though, do want.

Like when the TARDIS landed crashing into the walls of the buildings of Rose's council estate in showers of sparks.
    Now that was great!
    :)

All I can say is that I wish I had the skill to produce something like that. I don't like the current titles as I think they are too cartoonish. I dislike the lightening strikes and the present version of the title music. Much prefered the Ecclestone version.

The best official version of the theme song was in series four. Very orchestral and dramatic. Loved it!

The one element of the Moffat era titles I did actually like - was when the DW logo spun into a continuation of the Tardis in flight, in the S5 version. Natually, they immediately got rid of it in S6.

The latest version of the graphics have been TERRIBLE. An embarrassment to the fandom. They simply took the S6 credits and ran it through a different Instagram filter each week. I have seldom seen anything THAT piss poor even on YouTube fan vids.

They really do need to sort the titles out.

Do you mean the 7A titles? In that case I'd agree. I think it was to establish a period of 'transition', but it was rather cheaply done. Makes sense, as they had bigger things to spend their budget on!

But if you mean the 7B titles - nah, I disagree and think you'd be wrong. Those titles were created from scratch, and I think they look pretty good! The vortex could've been a bit better but that's neither here or there.

And 7B's titles are easily updatable. All they have to do is switch Matt's face for Peter's (like how the 1980 titles were altered from Tom to the other Peter) and change the logo (even if they don't change it completely for Capaldi, I'd expect at least a texture change, the titles were designed with the intention of that changing every episode).

Still got that stupid bit at the end with the Tardis doors opening, hate that on the TV show and still hate it on his version. They ok, technically good but he's really just taken the current titles and changed some bits for asteroids and lava instead of the time vortex which isn't good.

He's using the Doctor who theme and their tittle design to make money from adverts. BBC could easily sue him. he needs to be careful. They;ll often allow fan made stuff to go through as it's harmless, but he's commercialising his copyright theft now and use of the theme alone could result in anything upto a £100,000 suit

(I'm in an industry that has often seen people use commercial music in Youtube and Vimeo and £100,000 has often been the starting point for one violation)

EDIT: I've just seen the guys lengthy bit on copyright..WTF, DON'T DARE steal my work but I'll just help myself to the musical works of others and the design and style someone else created. If you do steal it I'll set my FB minions on you. This guy needs brought down a bit.

I like how he also says no profit made as if that matter, it does't but he also advertises a company turning it into a commercial piece. this guy is an idiot and in a lot of legal bother. Twit

Despite freely making use of other people's copyright, this artist fiercely threatens anyone who might be thinking of copying "his" ideas. I've asked him before whether he thinks there's a contradiction there and he more or less told me to get stuffed.

They're actually astoundingly badly made. I like the general idea of them, but the way it was pulled off was piss-poor.
Compare the TARDIS in this and this with this shot from Hide and this from the previous titles.

Okay, they aren't the best screenshots ever taken so this video explains how I feel about the new titles:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAfDTovDOfE

They were clearly thrown together in a hurry and no time or effort was put into them.

Oh...and there's a wolf drinking a cup of tea in the bottom right corner 5 seconds in. Why!?:confused:

All this said, it still shouldn't be difficult for this title sequence to be tidied up a little before the 50th special. Just a few tweaks here and there such as adjusting the lighting, making things blend in better, fixing the ridiculous doors opening the wrong way at the end, giving the logo a sensible colour scheme, updating the vortex and the TARDIS model and removing the wolf with a cup of tea would be nice.
This should definitely be done, especially since the 50th special will be in 3D- you want the titles to be looking fantastic.

Love that video and the wolf, :D:D
