Saddest Death on TV

Following on from the movie thread of the same name.
Started this as I wanted to give credit to two of the most poignant TV Deaths ever.
1. The last scene of Blackadder Goes Forth when they all go 'over the top'
2. Victor Meldrew in the last ever 'One Foot In The Grave'.
Brilliant TV moments.

Pratt's death in ER. First episode of the last season, which made it hit home that it was coming to an end. Plus, they made you think he was going to be alright :-(

Morse dying was a pretty harrowing episode.

Leo (John Spencer) in The West Wing.

Even without the fact that the actor had actually died this would have been a powerful scene.

Also Delores Landingham in the same series - setting up the Fantastic 'Two Cathedrals' episode.

Actually that reminds me. Blanche dying in Corrie was quite sad (at least the funeral was), mainly because of the actress Maggie Jones who played her died.

    Butch Dingle in Emmerdale.

Emily's reaction was heartbreaking in the extreme.

Toby in Doomwatch. 35 years on and I've still not got over it.

I'm not a fan of Corrie in the slightest but Jack Duckworth has a very special send-off.

Also, Nana in the Royle Family was really sad.

    Nana Moon's death in Eastenders.

Or rather the episode preceeding it, when Alfie took her to the seaside and she reminisced about her husband and worried that because he died when he was young, and she would be an old lady, that he wouldn't recognise her in Heaven.

    I cried :cry::o

    Oh gosh, yes, her's too!

Again I cried buckets, especially the scene beforehand where Sue Johnston was doing her hair, and she said 'I really love you Barbara.'

And then started singing 'Que Sera Sera'.....I'll stop typing now, don't want to burst into tears in the office!

    Ethel Skinner in Eastenders.

And Elliot Hope's wife in Holby City - sad, and yet beautiful.

Marty Hopkirk being run over by an evil crook's henchman was particularly tragic, what with he and Jeanie not being married all that long.

Megan's death from cancer in Casualty last year. Simply heartbreaking. The whole episode with her and Charlie was worthy of every award going. Saw it twice and balled my eyes out both times!

I've only been able to watch that episode once - utterly heartbreaking.
I don't know if anyone remembers the early days of London's Burning? but I thought Vaseline's death was sad in that, too - not so much the actual scenes surrounding it but the fact that the character was gone.

Danielle dying in Ronnie's arms in EastEnders had me in floods all through the night.
Just the way she whimpered 'Mum' just before she died.

Oh poor Damon...although I was upset when he died at the end of that Damon and Debbie spin-off, I think I was more upset when the police came to tell Sheila and Bobby and Sheila saw the police coming to their front door and she started shaking as she knew something terrible had happened :(

That was outstanding, the entire scene with Barbara and Nana.

Nana says to Barbara ''Barbara, thank you''

    Barbara asks ''What for ?''

To which Nana replies simply ''Everything''
