First known case of cat to human TB

It's just been confirmed after rigorous testing that bovine TB has been passed from a cat to a human in my town (Newbury). This is the first known case of cat to human trransfer but happened some time ago and there have been no further cases, so not a cause for worry.

Apparently one of the cattle on Greenham Common (yes, the ex air base) tested positive, so presumably the cat was wandering on there and picked it up.

Perhaps the government will now demand a cat cull to join the futile badger exercise.

    That was just a jokey bit at the end. I think you knew that :)

    Maybe not in good taste though, considering recent sad losses reported on this forum.

    If anything it just further increases the need to vaccinate the badgers against TB
