  Why are people using the word "lodger". If they are both paying rent to a landlord they are flatmates. If one room is considerably smaller, the person with the smaller room should pay less.
  
  Definitely speak to him about this.

  I actually decided to speak to him earlier on the situation to see what he thought. He said when he thought about it it wasn't fair to split the place 50/50 and he offered a 60/40 rent price... Which i accepted.
