Until we have paid off the national debt ?

Of course the bankers and MP's etc should still be allowed champers and steak.

No, there isn't a shortage of food and our supply lines aren't being bombed or torpedoed by U-boats.

    How about wealth rationing ?

Does anyone need more than a million pounds ?

What about making everyone who has more than a million pounds donate the excess to the treasury to pay off the debt

Then after that we could start again with every man for himself and the rat race

A bloke from Dudley walks into Dignitas, sits down in the waiting area and was surprised to meet another guy from Dudley who was also waiting.

"You come here to to die too?" enquires the first bloke.

"No, I've been here about week" replies the second.

The Tories want us to spend more to boost businesses and the economy, not less.

You should add the word yet given the French setting fire to tires in the channel ports.

The supply lines are under threat, not from bombs or torpedoes but from supermarkets. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-33592415. Food suppliers and farmers are being increasingly squeezed by a bitter supermarket price war, according to a report.

The number of suppliers in significant financial distress has risen 54% since last year, according to insolvency specialists Begbies Traynor.

That would get my support! Is about time the rich 'pulled their weight' and paid their way. A million pounds is a lot of money and I can't see why anyone should have anymore than that.

I'd sooner they paid up so we don't have to face the painful austerity cuts to the NHS and benefit sanctions.

I guess our wonderful Duncan Himmler has probably already considered that.

I think that's mainly domestic produce. Importing cheap foreign goods in bulk works out more cost effective for the supermarkets. I very much doubt we'll see empty shelves in the supermarkets anytime soon. It's a shame though, as the environmental impact will be far higher and welfare/environmental standards in many foreign countries may not be as high as the UK. The majority of the masses here though, are only fussed about cheap food.

They should definitely ration anything pickled in vinegar.
    Pickled walnuts. Tastes like... vinegar.
    Pickled cauliflower. Tastes like... vinegar.
    Pickled eggs. Tastes like... vinegar.
    Am I boring you yet?
What happens if you eat too much vinegar? Do you shrivel up and die like a slug?

Of course the bankers and MP's etc should still be allowed champers and steak.

Quite how would that help ? people buy less food so stores make less money and pay less tax as there are less profits, restaurants and bars make less sales so less VAT , not to mention the job losses caused by such an action which would cost us money, all in all the debt would take longer to pay off.

So I take it if you won a jackpot on the lottery you would donate anything over a million to the country?

I'm not sure if he was serious in his post. I can't imagine anyone being dense enough to fail to understand that the rich pay more than their fair share of tax.
