Just because there are so many threads on the subject that I wouldn't know where to begin posting it.

We are pleased to announce Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are the co-hosts of Strictly when it returns to BBC One in the autumn.

Following the news earlier this year that Sir Bruce Forsyth had stepped down, his fabulous co-host, Tess Daly will have the role of introducing the dances and probing the judges for their comments, whilst Claudia will host the post-dance interviews and reaction to judges’ scores.

Tess and Claudia are no strangers to hosting together on Strictly, having formed a formidable partnership presenting the Sunday night results show for the last three series.

Tess Daly: “I’m so pleased that I’ll be working with Claudia - she’s long been part of the Strictly family and I’ve loved doing the Sunday show with her. It’s really exciting having two women host the show, and we are great mates so there’ll be lots of fun to be had on and off the dance floor, and of course I'll look forward to being reunited with Brucie for the Children in Need and Christmas shows."

Claudia Winkleman: “I have loved Strictly since the second it appeared on our screens and I am honoured and thrilled to now be part of the Saturday night team. Working alongside Tess is always fantastic and I can't wait to spend the weekends with her, our amazing dancers and the greatest judging panel on the planet. Sir Bruce is a living legend and we'll all miss him very much."

    From the BBC press release.

Well they've lost me and my girlfriend as viewers for the next series.

    Not that they'll care. :)

Brilliant news- the three (I think?) shows they presented together last year (on a Saturday) were far superior for it.

Wonder how yer typical misogynist columnist nut-job will respond, though?

Obviously a bridging year so Graham Norton can take Tess' place next year but nonetheless, a safe two pairs of hands.

Will you be watching old episodes of "Play Your Cards Right" on another channel instead?

You could still record SCD, then watch the programme and fast-forward through their contributions. Just as many of us did with that of the old codger.

Thank goodness the BBC have decided to stay with a proven combination at least for now.

Thrilled with that decision. Claudia is so much better at the post dance interviews than Tess. And no more of those forced 'jokes' during the introductions that I felt compelled to mute.

Looking forward to the new series already

Same here can't stand Claudia Winkleman even worse choice of a presenter than Brian Dowling on Big Brother

At least, unlike Brian, she is a presenter!

    Good choice.

Someone should make a note of those saying they won't watch anymore and check to see if they end up posting during the next series.

Absolutely phenomenal news. Any other decision would have been ridiculous.

    :D

I was dreading it being Anton :o

If they let Tess do Brucie's bits and Claudia do what Tess used to do, it will be brilliant.

Claudia was great on the Sewing Bee on BBC2 and will, no doubt, be fun on Strictly. At least it isn't some of the suggestions put forward previously!
