Morning.
I have just a black screen for my Desktop Background.
I have gone through the process to change it to a picture, but it resolutely remains black >:(.
What am I missing here ?

probably due to the update fixing part of the licensing system but when windows calls it to check its mid update and says "hold on" and thus fails meaning it goes into dodgy copy mode
Didn't work.
Still icons on a black screen >:(
make sure its license status is licensed, if not then it probably will need to re-authenticated

2. Try saving the "new theme" you have created immediately after selecting your picture or the Microsoft picture.

No, still black Desktop screen
How long have you had the PC?
Did it come with windows 8 on it?
If not what did you have on it previously?
has it been in for any repairs and if so where/who did it?
Where did you buy it from?
It's a cheap Lenovo pre installed with Windows 8.
No repairs or anything, but I did a Recovery (?) or something in first week to get rid of all the pre-installed Programmes I didn't need. Desktop may have been black since then I think.

Put Ease of Access Centre into your search box. Go to that page. And then scroll down the page to see if this box has somehow got ticked.....
