Russian ? film help please.

I saw this film a year or so ago and can`t remember it`s name or where I saw it, I think it`s Russian or Eastern European and fairly recent.(last 10 years?)
There are some students who are going to visit a castle and they take with them a lawyer type who is doing some work for them.
As they are going on a bus journey out in the country a young man gets on carrying a coffin along with an old man. The students question the young man and the coffin is for the old man who is going to die that day to settle a disagreement between rival families.His life will be taken by a member of this rival family.
If anything happens to the old man the young one takes his place.
They all go to this village and the old man dies of a heart attack and the sons of the rival family chase and shoot and kill the young man.
The students return to the town with this lawyer type who blames them for interfering.
It was a strange film but it`s stayed with me.
