    Blanche is currently in Portugal with her friend - I think she will pass away off screen and there will be a funeral for Blanche the character.....bit like EE's Mike Reid (Frank butcher)

    I absolutely agree, loved her as a character and actor. She couldn't have played her part any better. RIP Maggie XXXX

    I surprised myself by watching the whole hour memorial service. Very nicely done, not quite sure how they went about choosing sean, graeme and sophie to speak. Diedre seemed an obvious choice. RIP maggie

    Dierdre (Anne Kirkbride) Did get up and speak - near the start
