Why would I get a partial recording?

I have had my Samsung V+ since December last year, generally very reliable, have only had to reboot twice or three times.
Today it was set to record only the F1 qualifying, nothing else to clash, but when I came home from work, found it had recorded 58min instead of 2h30m, and was marked as "partial recording" in the menu. No other evidence of anything like a power cut in the house. Any suggestions why?

PS, I did manage to find the program on iPlayer on the BBC website, though not on the V+ iPlayer. Glad I did, it was exciting!

Although it have started to have issues, with this in the past especaily when you record a HD Programme and A SD programme together its starts to slow down then reboot happen about 3 time this year already and since the extra HD channels have come online its is slower than ever using the menu system.
