My nine year old is mithering me to death for a GameCube console as he has a birthday in a few weeks. Obviously it would probably be a second hand one off Amazon.

For all those fans out there, what would I need to get him up and running please? Are there loads of extras or is it just a Console?

Thanks!

Would it not be better to get a Wii? As it's backwards compatible with GC. Best of both worlds :D

Bearing in mind that only applies to Wii models manufactured between 2006-2010
2011 Wii's had Gamecube support removed.

I've still got my gamecube packed away (with about 50+ games under the bed) .... Rouge Squadron, Luigi's Mansion, Eternal Darkness etc etc .... Probably the last time I was geniunely excited about a console launch lineup!
