they say they are increasing prices by 6.7 % yeah right. their price for broadband on there website has gone up by a £1 but they seam to be applying the price increase to the new price not the one you currently pay

my line rental is going up from £14.99 to £15.99 ok 6.7% increase

30 meg broadband £14.50 to £16.50 thats 13.8%

    And what did they say?

I would expect the answer to have been a firm but polite no.

Never understood why they're more expensive than their competitors, paying mad prices for 30mb broadband only. Luckily my contract finishes on two months.

but there not more expensive  everywhere else offers fibre broadband for £19.99 a month where as £16.50 is still cheaper. normal ADSL broadband can be alot slower but it is cheaper

£16.50 is not the normal BB price though, so your post is irrelevant
