As for the episode. Did they tae Jarvis straight to the phone company? What would have happened if his lawyers have to come down.
It's hardy going to be a secret base if they're taking suspects there all the time.

Is it a secret base? Maybe they just have a large switchboard?

Also, why would they let one agent have the responsibility to take a prisioner in.
In this instance with the assasination it may not have helped but in general I would have thought it essential to have one that one agent.

I don't think they saw the guy as a high profile, high security prisoner. He was just a hired thug with a broken arm. With hindsight they could have provided a bigger escort but I'm not sure they had any reason to think they needed one.

As someone once said "If our hindsight were as good as foresight we'd be better off a damn sight" :D

Could be a secret base... The Phone Cops... There were rumors about it in the US. :D

People don't remember it. Up until the 1970s, the American Telephone and Telegraph Company through its relationship with the Edison Companies (like NBC, Disney, and others) and Bell Lads had nearly supreme dominance of telecommunications in the US. There were even reports of ATT being allied with its own secret police like the Pinkerton Agency or its colleagues in the US government (the FBI, the OSS later the CIA, NSA, CID, AI, etc) to ensure ATT's position around the country if not the world.

So, bringing suspects to New York Bell for questioning for unAmerican Activities wouldn't be out of place for 1940s-50s New York. :D

The phone company is a front for their HQ.
Javis was there in the interrogation room with all the regular staff wandering about.

Not a good front if they keep taking people there. There was no mention of putting a bag over his head so he didn't know where he was being taken. How would his lawyers get there if he called them?

Everytime I see Howard Stark, I think Howard Hughes.

So how long before Peggy finds the body under the bed?? The blond next door does seem to have some sort of powers the way she jumped off the walls.

Not unusual, he was supposedly one of the inspirations for the character :)

I don't think the blonde had powers: I think she's just an agent and perhaps for the Russians?

I'm not sure she'll find out about the body before she finds or about the blonde!

The link back to Cap was nice and it was a nicely played emotional scene between Peggy and Howard. It was also good to see that things aren't so clean cut with Howard.

When it starts to decompose - I liked the gun too.

Loved the scene this week, with Stan Lee.

This is turning into a little gem of a series.

    Definite spoiler
Not powers. Training in the Black Widow programme.

Didn't clock her at first and took me a minute to realise she's the girl who turned up last week.

And, come on, Peggy. If you spot a person's tell, you don't let them know.

Was wondering when Stan would make an appearance.

Is Hydra still around in this period/universe?

This is tied into Captain America: Winter Soldier and Agents of SHIELD but at this time Hydra is thought to be destroyed and are for the most part.

It's not Hydra as such but yes, they are about.

Varsas is right with his comments, the flashback period mentioned in Captain America: Winter Soldier or Agents of Shield does reference back to this time period. Hydra exists but is believed to have been destroyed at the end of WW2.

Really? I'm enjoying it less than I did Agents of SHIELD at the same stage. I think it's a bit too affected, and a bit too slapstick (eg Stark's womanising). I'm not that interested in this hunt-the-weapon yet.

The Russian children, very Dark Angel trained to kill from an early age.

Peggy at last able to show the US workers what she can really do. Next week will be interesting, she has been rumbled.

It was nice to see the tie back to the Cap days and having Peggy be more in her element and where she's taken seriously.

She certainly been found out but I'm not sure there's enough evidence for Sousa to do anything beyond confronting her directly or starting to tail her.

It was a nice touch to have Dottie cuff herself to the bed but it was also a bit heavy handed; we already knew that she was linked to the flashback and probably still working as an agent.

I liked it (I watched at US Pace but keep an eye on this thread). I thought it was a nice and easy way of showing just how much the conditioning had become a part of the girls and a great way of giving the viewer a background into the early days of the Black Widow programme which we all "know" so well because of Natasha Romanoff.

It reminded me of another show or movie where a Russian ((I think) trained kids to be assasins.
A prominent family died in a car crash and they replaced the kid with the plant.
When he was grown up he was activated and the Government/employers or himself didn't know if he really was a double agent or not.

I can't remember what it was from though.

It made me feel a bit sorry for her. It also seemed a bit of a liability as she'd have some explaining to do if anyone discovered she slept like that.

I'm enjoying it on a different level. I fell out with AOS mid season 1 but went back and was glad I did. Agent Carter is different and that's why I like it.

Rumbled big time - Great episode last night, with the Doc turning out to be Bad - and Peggy finding the Russian, the hard way.

    Can't wait for next week.

Turning into a gem of a series....all be it, very short.

The latest episode was certainly riveting and fast paced. I really enjoyed it.

Leviathan is fairly obvious to be connected to Hydra considering the names.

Hydra was a water serpent and so is Leviathan

Anyone else notice the glaring continuity error in that Carter was checking the wrong wrists for the handcuff bruises and that Dottie had the bruises on the wrong wrist?

Also, how is that lipstick supposed to work. You can apply it to yourself with no adverse effects but as soon as you kiss someone they are poisioned?

When Carter used it I assumed she must be immune because of an antidote or something but apparently not.

I don't think the scars had to be on a particular wrist so I'm not sure about a continuity error. However Dottie's should have been on her left one based on what we had seen of her, was the scarring on her right?

Dottie could wear a protective base layer before applying the poisoning lipstick layer ;)

A very action packed episode this week. Loved it.

Unless she'd had the bruise on her right wrist, got it bruised, and we saw her cuff herself on the left wrist... :D
