Yes, I know. I'm being sad. I wish I could let these things go.....

Like me and the suddenly near empty milk bottle.

Quite liking this. I think resting on the laurels of the Batman continuity as they have a fair bit in this episode can be a bit of a double-edged sword in that it's sort of cool for an opening episode based on a well-established fictional world, yet if it goes it's own way and cuts down the shameless references as times goes on it'll doubtless turn off viewers who thought they were getting a full-on Batman prequel.

Having said the above, the Penguin is the star of the show for me thus far so I hope he becomes a central character throughout.

Still a bit bored, bit confusing that Alfred and Gordon could be brothers.

Alfred the butler and commissioner Gordon? How can they be brothers? Not convinced with Ben McKenzie playing Gordon. Hopefully he will get better. Overall it wasn't too bad.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Probably best to forget what you already know about the Batman universe and see it as (yet another) reboot.

    The Penguin is very good.

    It was incredibly dull.

I won't be watching again. The only character i found remotely interesting was Ivy because she seemed quite amusing and like she would be a tragic character.

Really enjoyed this opening episode, Penguin is a real nasty little fella. :-D I've never read DC comics, only seen the old tv Batman and of course the movies, it was fun spotting the characters who'll feature, Riddler etc.
Certainly be tuning in next week.

Yes. I think the only problem some might have is the usual thing with prequels - they'll miss the mature fully developed characters.

Disappointing given the build up - very much doubt I'll be watching it again.

I meant that the actor playing commissioner Gordon looks like a younger version of Sean Pertwee.
Finding all the characters a bit generic at the moment.
