User Manual for Samsung

I've just taken delivery of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. It comes with a small booklet titled Quick Start Guide, which gives a rudimentary introduction to the device. On page 14 it says the User Manual provides a more complete information on its operation, and gives www.samsung.com as the site where one can find a Manual for a specific product and model. I typed in that web address and, from the list of websites that appeared, clicked on User Manuals. A samsung page opened, but I could not see anything that allowed me to download the Manual. I am not familiar with the Android OS so, without the manual, I am in the dark. One example of what I need to know is how long is the first, initial charge of the battery, the quick start guide doesn't say. I'd appreciate any assistance with this. Thanks.

The latest version of the manual is on Samsung's website here: http://www.samsung.com/uk/business/business-products/mobile-devices/galaxy-note/GT-N8010EAABTU

With some difficulty, I managed to download a PDF of the manual but, on starting to read it, I immediately encountered an apparent contradiction.

At the start of the manual, it refers to using a SIM card. The accompanying diagram shows a SIM card being inserted into the memory slot, but immediately below the diagram is the warning: ! Do not insert a memory card into the SIM card slot (it suggests that to do so will cause damage).

Then, confusingly, under the heading: Insert a memory card (optional), it shows a memory card being inserted into the same slot that the earlier diagram had shown a SIM card being inserted into. As there is only one slot (that I have been able to find) I don't know what to make of this warning.

I believe SIM cards are NOT the same as memory cards, so I'm confused. Thanks for responding to my OP, maybe you, or he could clarify what seems to be a contradiction, because, obviously, I don't want to do anything that will damage this expensive tablet before I've even learned how to use it. D

they are not interchangeable so you'd have to be seriously silly to attempt it. they don't even look the same so that's a pretty shocking shortfall on Samsung's part.

one is essential for internet connectivity (SIM), the other is just RAM expansion for you to use as you see fit.

Surely most manuals can be found online from the manufacturer's website? There are some sites which specialise in manuals too.

You've downloaded the manual for the 3G model. The page I linked to was for the WiFi only model, as I (correctly) assumed that's the one you'd need. Download that manual.

From the link I gave you, scroll down to the section titled Manuals & Downloads on the left. Then just click the download link under the section that says Manual on the left.

You're right, but the reason I downloaded the 3g version in the first place was because many of the reviews I had studed before buying, spoke of 4g being the new kid on the block, and I figured my one was still using 3g, with wifi connectivity automatically included as part of the package. Thanks for that mate, much appreciated. D :)
