Duran Duran's John Taylor apparently.

John Deacon of Queen nowhere in sight

    John Taylor Nahhh

Looked at the full list Lemmy is too low down at 27. Roger Waters at 23 well yes he is a fantastic songwriter and creator of theme. However most of the recorded bass work on Pink Floyd albums in the 70s was actually David Gilmour.

Deecy being missing is a outrage. >:(

Where's Peter Hook, Carl Radle, Mark Clarke, John Wetton, Dusty Hill, Andy Fraser, Bill Wyman, Glenn Hughes, John McVie.

What a silly list. They simply thought of a few well-known bass players and drew the names out of a hat for their positions. For my money Mick Karn has to be right up near the top, along with Chris Squire and McCartney.

At least they had the taste and decency to leave out Mark bloody King.

God almighty - no Jack Bruce in the top 20 and John Taylor at #1 .... what deaf idiot put this list together then?

Bruce is without doubt the best bass player ever.

A list with no Stanley Clarke has no credibility.

And while we're at it - another glaring omission is Norman Watt-Roy, one of the best bass players anywhere!

I totally agree with you and, as already mentioned, no Norman Watt-Roy! No doubt John Taylor is a talented musician but FFS!

Not surprised to see Victor Wooten on that list, but no Stuart Hamm?

Number 13 but I would have put him higher. Jason Newsted is not on the list either but he was a fine replacement for the Late Cliff

    He's at number 24.

    Meanwhile... where's Danny Thompson?

Sounds like a list put forward by some youngster or someone whose knowledge of musicians is very limited. Although Jack Bruce is among the best electric bass players there are technically some even better than him - in the UK, Danny Thompson. In the US, the late Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, Larry Klein, although the latter is better known as a record producer nowadays.
