New Phone, what should I buy?

Hello,
I need to get a new phone since my Wildfire is being really laggy and generally annoying.
My budget is £300, maybe a little bit higher if necessary.
I am thinking about getting the Galaxy SII. It'll be used for texting, occasional phone calls and light internet use (not games really, I own an iPod touch so I tend to use that).

Decent battery would be great too. I'd rather not be charging every night. Also I can not read my Wildfire in the sun at all, so I need to find shade If I want to use it - which is very annoying.

Any suggestions?

if you want something at that kind of budget consider Galaxy Nexus - bigger and better screen than the S2, and the best version of android. you should be able to find it for around £320 simfree.

wait for iPhone 5 release then buy iphone 4 or iphone 4s.

+1 for the Galaxy Nexus. Excellent phone and will be supported for quite some time !

For the use seems like a waste to sepnd £300 when you won't be getting the most out of the phone...I'd recommend the Huawei G300 - about £100

The Nexus looks good, so I will look more into that.

A few place saying the battery life is awful, but some are saying it is great. Apparently it depends on where you get it? how is it in the UK?

No problem with battery life on mine (at least, no worse than any other smartphone I've used, and better than my S2).

Windows 8 launches in October and new phones will come along so may be worth waiting to see whats about. Its not long to the pre xmas push so bide your time a few weeks for the prices all round to start dropping.
