ITV have the consolation though that tonight's match will probably be the highest rating match of the year, and I'd imagine the highest rating sporting event bar another Murray final at Wimbledon. It's probably one of their most lucrative nights of the year.
Panaromas audience would be best served post news on monday evening I think they should return animal hospital to that post enders slot with a sexy young presenter.
BBC1 shouldn't be sidelining PSB programming, they do get their unique funding for a reason.
What does the breakdown for broadchurch look to everyone here because if I am reading it wrong- it lost nearly as many viewers as mayday did during sunday?

Isn't it an Ofcom requirement for ITV to show the news at ten o'clock except on special occasions for live events (e.g. the Brits)?
The match ended 20 minutes ago so not much excuse for not starting the news on time.

What's the excuse for Andy Townsend. Is he really the best ITV can muster for the big matches ? Dire throughout. Had to cringe at him slaughtering their keeper in the first half for no good reason then backtracking like crazy in the second after he pulled off numerous outstanding saves. :rolleyes:
Roy Keane is by far the best thing about ITV's football coverage. Without him it would be an unmitigated disaster.
Id like to see them pilot comedy shows over eight weeks in that slot and give panaroma a break. The eastenders audience is never fully used and coronation street is never challenged as bbc one is a public service.
But they do exactly that every week, on a Friday. In the same slot in the same circumstances. And you don't need to give Panorama a break. You don't give the news a break.
they only did it because they were embarrased that Brainiac on Sky was delivering science in a more accessible way than anything on the BBC, so they just do an inferior rip off.
They're not doing Braniac any more though, are they? Presumably it wasn't rating well enough. And I'm pretty sure the Beeb were doing primetime science a bit before Sky were. That David Attenborough on Sky's good, maybe they should have poached him.

And the keeper was shaky in the 1st half. Fact. He is the 2nd keeper and was brought in as temporary cover. He turned it around in the 2nd half though.

ITV moved the news back to 10pm themselves, because it wasn't working at 10.30 and they had nothing interesting to show at 10pm. The only reason they try to keep it at 10pm was because when they used to move it about the press dubbed it 'News at When'.

Yeah, but, yeah, to quote Vicky Pollard, ITV can go out of this tournament with a bang tonight. It is possible an all Spanish final or semi could pull in a decent audience, but tonight will be the peak of ITV's football this season, as it's possible the FA Cup could be lesser teams in the final and an ECL not involving the big Spanish names or Bayern Munich won't rate that highly.
You pays your money and you takes your chance. Maybe if there's another poor performance next season, what's to say ITV might not want the risk, particularly if interest in the game in general is waning and England flunk the World Cup.
